Ik ben voor een collega een Speedtouch 330 USB modem aan het installeren. Maar ik krijg hem met geen mogelijkheid geinstalleerd. Er blijft maar staan onbekend app. De pc werkt op Win98se tot op de laatste update bijgewerkt etc. Domme vraag: je hebt toch wel de driver van de modem geinstalleerd?

When the modem isn't plugged in, the PC is fine. But when it IS plugged in, the PC will often freeze completely, mostly when the "disconnect" button is pressed. Nothing shows in eventvwr and the PC needs a hard reboot.... Any time a machine needs a hardware-reset to boot I immediately think of a driver bug.

Sometimes it is actually the fault of the modem - some USB ADSL modems draw more than the 500mA max current allowed for high powered devices. Asking your ISP for a non-USB ADSL modem is the answer.
