speedtouch 330 usb adsl modem driver

SpeedTouch 330 USB ADSL Modem Driver

I'm having a lot of problems trying to install my SpeedTouch modem. No driver's will work. Can anyone please help me?

I had replied to this one, but it seems to have diappeared.
My speedtouch 330 is running fine on Vista, even using the older drivers supplied from my ISP's CD.
Do you have a network card on your PC? If so has Vista recognised it.?
I had a similar where i could install the speedtouch software but then it would freeze as it installed the speedtouch network drivers. Upon checking in device manager i noticed that my network card hadn't been recognised by Vista so was not installed. I then pointed the new hardware wizard to the location of the network card drivers and the network crad was installed. Finally i re-installed the speedtouch software, created an internet connection and everything was fine.
When
or if you get the speedtouch working i'd be interested to know if you are forced to create a new internet connection every time you re-start your pc. This is my current problem -something microsoft cannot reproduce, apparently. Everytime i re-start vista i have to create a brand new internet connection as the old one will not connect. It is also impossible to connect after hibernation or sleep. A full reboot is required and a new internet connection needs to be created. Maybe this is a problem peculiar to Speedtouch ADSL modems?

Indeed I have a device that is not recognised by Vista. I will try that solution and report back to you. Thank you for your time.

That seems wierd. My SpeedTouch USB ADSL Modem installed perfectly fine on both Beta 2 (5384) and Pre-RC1 (5535), with absolutely no problems.

Hi,
Just install XP drivers for SpeedTouch 330 from Alcatel site: http://www.speedtouch.com/download/drivers/webUpgrade_Windows_USB_R3.0.1.5.zip
Works for me.
Make sure you have 2 devices installed in Device Manager: "SpeedTouch USB ADSL PPP" under "Network adapters" and "SpeedTouch 330 ADSL Modem" under "SpeedTouch USB Modem".
Search http://www.speedtouch.com/support.htm for SpeedTouch 510 drivers - maybe they will work too?

after a long time working on it i have now managed to use the internet using my speed touch 330 and vista 5600 ultimate what i done was download the intall from speedtouch for the xp 64bit(r4.0.0.5),using dual boot, then try to install speed touch saying 0-38 for britain but then it hangs and fails when searching for speedtouch 330 modem, then i cancelled installation, then goto c: program files/thomson speedtouch/st330/drivers/x64/st330 and copy and paste all files to desktop should be ipwdm.sys,st330,st330.sys,st330 64 stbus.sys then i opened and edited st 330(second from the bottom was a line saying"instdisk=st330 installation disk" i deleted that and saved it then i went to device manager and right clicked speedtouch 330 and update driver, then browse to best driver(desktop) and it installed fine,i had a bit of trouble first of all with it connecting but not allowing my user name and pass word but after i rebooted my computer i could connect straight away by going to connect to and then picking speed touch 330 conection,,,,,,,i cant remember what setting i said when first intalling the speed touch software but i know i picked 0-38 i maybe the next question was the second choice down i hope this makes sense if you want to contact me please do

Hi, I managed to install the updated drivers I found on http://www.speedtouch.com/support.htm or at least i thought so cause I had the "successful installation" notice; the problem is, every time I plug the SpeedTouch into my USB port a blue screen of death occurs (without any text on it, only the blue screen) after a few seconds : then Vista restarts and either I unplug the SpeedTouch or another blue screen of death will occur exactly when the desktop appears on the screen. Anyone got a clue ?

Yes. Contact SpeedTouch Support! Let them know there is a problem so they can investigate. Microsoft is not going to debug someone else's drivers!

Sadly, no one but SpeedTouch can help you. Until they release final drivers that's it.

Hey all, I too am having difficultys with my 330, when i 1st installed vista, and the modem drivers all was well, then over night the same problem devloped, its there but vista will not use it, i rang the the line on the speedtouch website and they said the drivers would not be relesed until april.... wot a bummer will try 64bit xp driver,

no new driver or update needed after installation of vista, copy your old driver's cd on hard drive, click properties on setup(aam6000ug driver or ... ) file and select ::compatibility:: and change the mode to windows xp sp2, then enjoy your win vista

Hope this is the right place to post this - I'm feeling a bit thick as it took me ages to find the forum search page, and when I did, it would only return pages up to 2006! But I found this post via google, so here goes...
PC: Targa Now 3500+. Modem: Thomson Speedtouch 330 -the numbers on it are 357q01gb2, 362-50-357 and 515 apparently.
The PC is brand new, has all the updates, and we installed the NEW Vista drivers before doing anything else. ie: the "old" ones were never there. When the modem isn't plugged in, the PC is fine. But when it IS plugged in, the PC will often freeze completely, mostly when the "disconnect" button is pressed. Nothing shows in eventvwr and the PC needs a hard reboot.
We've also been round all the ports, front and back. And I've tried to find a firmware update, but all we find is people asking the same question.
Secondly, we have an 8Mb connection but we can't use it because the speedtouch is currently limited to 2Mb. So, I found this page called "Adapting the SpeedTouch 330 driver settings for ADSL speeds above 4Mbit/s" http://www.thomson-broadband.co.uk/codepages/content3.asp?c=91 Except, it doesn't work. Vista says it has installed the settings OK, but even after removing the modem or rebooting or whatever, it doesn't change to isochronous mode. I don't know how many times we must have rebooted the computer and unplugged the modem in various combinations before or after installing the registry patch.
Here's the general Thomson 330 info page http://www.thomson-broadband.co.uk/codepages/content3.asp?c=7&ProductID=471
We've also read this page http://www.thomson.net/EN/Home/MiniSites/BAP/Telecom/Vista-Support.htm#usb
We HAVE logged a query with Thomson, but if previous experience of doing that kind of thing is correct, in about two weeks a reply will come telling us to ring a premium rate number, which will tell us to visit the website!
If
I'm proved wrong I'll let you know, meantime any help would be appreciated.

Any time a machine needs a hardware-reset to boot I immediately think of a driver bug. In theory ;) only a driver should be able to crash a well-designed operating system.
I've read that drivers for 64-bit Vista are problematic compared to 32-bit Vista. Which flavor are you running?

Windows Vista
